Do you ever start reading a book but then get distracted by another? I do. I have about four on the go at the moment. Obviously it helps that I get to review books for The Sun and so there is a steady flow of books arriving most days at Casa Boo.

I’m at home today which totally threw the postman when he delivered another pile of parcels. ‘Hiya love, how’s the writing going? (we live in a small Cornish village, everyone round here knows what’s happening in my life better than I do) I looked at him perplexed ‘Writing?’

‘Yes. I saw one of your books in the paper! I don’t know how you find time to write them all! Shouldn’t you live in a posh house in Rock by now?’ he said chortling at his own hilarity.

I was doing that thing you do, when you’ve not got a bloody clue what someone is saying but you smile and nod anyway. Suddenly it dawned on me! He thinks I write ALL the books I review. 😂

‘Errr no, I read the books and then write a review for others to decide whether or not they fancy reading them themselves.’

He looked at me as if I had just told him that Father Christmas didn’t exist. ‘Oh!’ he managed before adding ‘I’ve been telling everyone you’re an author.’

I smiled brightly ‘No, I’m just a primary school teacher who enjoys reading, sorry about that.’ Why I was apologising I really wasn’t sure.

Anyway, I digress…today, despite already having lots of other books part read in various different rooms, this beauty written by Balli Kaur Jaswal arrived ! They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but in this instance how could I not?

An ecclesiastical purple background textured with sumptuous gold and talk about an attention grabbing title! ‘Erotic Stories for Punjabi widows’ I mean I’m neither Punjabi nor a widow (although if Dan keeps snoring so loudly when I’m trying to watch Eastenders that could easily be arranged) but I did used to live in Southall so I’m very aware of how bizarre the title seems! I’m intrigued. I know I’m going to love it! I’ll let you know how I get on-Boo x
